MCP server
Troubleshooting
Fix connection, sign-in and tool problems.
I can't connect
Check that you entered the server URL exactly as shown in the connection details, with /mcp at the end. Your client must support Streamable HTTP and OAuth sign-in; see Other clients in the connection guide. Then reconnect RegAlert from your client and complete the sign-in. If your organization manages the connector, ask its admin instead of removing a shared connection.
The sign-in window fails or closes
Close the browser window, go back to your AI client and start the connection again. Allow the client to open a new window. Sign in with the same account you use on regalert.today.
My sign-in has expired
Reconnect RegAlert from your AI client and sign in again. Claude shows Connect next to the connector; ChatGPT asks you to sign in when you next use the plugin.
RegAlert does not answer in the chat
In Claude, check that RegAlert is on under + → Connectors for this chat. In ChatGPT, mention it with @RegAlert in your message. You can also name it: “Use RegAlert to …”.
Some tools are missing
Your client may still use an older tool list. Refresh the tool list if your client can, then start a new chat. If tools are still missing, reconnect RegAlert. Compare with the tool reference. Organization policies can also limit which tools you can use.
“Unknown regulator” or “ambiguous regulator”
The filters take codes, not names. The error lists the codes that were probably meant, and your assistant can retry with one. To look a code up, ask “Which code does RegAlert use for the Central Bank of Kenya?” (list_regulators). Some codes are used in several countries — give the country with them.
A search finds nothing
Try fewer words, or English words: every document has an English summary and text. Remove filters one at a time. To see everything a regulator published, ask for its newest documents instead (recent_documents).
A long document stops in the middle
A read returns 40,000 characters at a time, and the answer says where the next part starts. Ask your assistant to continue reading, or ask a question about the document: it then reads only the passages that match.
Full-text reads have paused
Your account reached today's fair-use limit for full-text reads. Search, lists and lineage keep working, and full-text reads resume the next day (UTC). For bulk access, write to ask@regalert.today.
My script gets HTTP 429 from regalert.today
The website answers scripts and bots with a browser check. Software reads RegAlert on this host instead: the REST API at https://mcp.regalert.today/v1, and the reference at /llms.txt.
Something else
Write to ask@regalert.today with the name of your AI client and the exact message your assistant showed you.
